After the order for the chandeliers in the Saint Benigne Cathedral in Dijon, matali crasset is taking a look at another historic monument, the Fontevraud Abbey.
Losing one’s way and finding it again, this is the way the surprising visit is suggested at Fontevraud. By drawing inspiration from this principle, somewhat illogical in a historic monument, matali crasset was chosen to design the new signage for Fontevraud, as a network of lines, whether visible or invisible, which outline the various paths revealed to the visitors, without imposing anything. Suggesting, practical, discreet and amusing. The inauguration will take place with the artist present during the Cité idéale (Ideal City).
A city which runs through History, and which creates the link between its rich past and its present history and becomes the setting for culture and encounters. When the contemporary city of Fontevraud encourages its visitors to create their own visiting route depending on what they wish for in history and walks, they suggest a signage project that is simple, clear and useful.
